THE ROLE OF FR. GABRIEL DESHAYES...
At the beginning of the 19th century, Fr. Gabriel Deshayes became the Superior General. He recruited more Brothers and started many schools. After Fr. Deshayes’ death, the Brothers formed a Society of their own. The Society was called the Institute of the Brothers of St. Gabriel. To-day the Society is serving the people in more than 35 countries. The Brothers teach in schools of different types and under take various programme for the poor. They also teach the blind and the deaf.
