Millennium Commemorative
Campus Landmarks
About us

This Millennium was designed and constructed based on the suggestions of our own students. The monument has two important dimensions viz; the ‘content’ and the ‘structure’. The entire story of human existence from the known pages of history with its achievements and discoveries coupled with failures and setbacks are presented as a ‘Time Capsule’. The episodes are arranged Millennium wise in two stages from the Vedic Period to the 2000th Birthday of ‘Jesus Christ’, the Millennium Icon and Hero.

The base of the monument has two steps, each measuring 150 millimeters symbolizing the first and the second Millenniums. The large stone pillar rising above the second Millennium step is ten feet high and is reminiscent of the third Millennium. It is a hexagonal pillar with the embossed figures of a student, a teacher, brother and Lord Jesus Christ on four of its sides. Above the pillar is a large globe weighing 150 kgs. Around the monument is a lush green lawn inviting you to enter the temple of eco-spirituality ‘loving all things both small and great’.

The time past is present in the third Millennium; we have much to learn from the past, the stalwarts of yesteryears and a galaxy of events that have left indelible marks on humanity. The tall giants who walked ahead of us continue to challenge us to excellence. “Though made weak by time and fate, they were strong in will to strive, to seek, to find and not to yield”. Standing side by side and holding our hands together with the ‘God-man’ who came down to usher in peace, prosperity and harmony to the whole Universe, the Montfortians pledge to bring to ‘Unity’ our fragmented world. With Him we shall pull down the walls that are built around us and lift the world back to its “Orbit of Love” – around the Millennium Icon and Hero.
