THE MAIN ENTRANCE GETS A FACE-LIFT
The unique architecture that has come up there greets all who enter
Montfort. To the left of the entrance stands a finely designed
waterfall and fountains. The three symmetrical grey vertical walls
represent the three pioneers, who were instrumental for the advent of
the Montfortian presence in India.
The walls again depict the
figures of the founder, the three pioneers and Rev.Bro.Eleazer, who
held the office of the Principal for a number of years. Against the
back drop of great men like Jesus Christ, the Superstar, Gandhiji,
Nehru, Einstein, Mother Teresa, Isaac Newton, C.V.Raman, Bharathiyar,
Thiruvalluvar, Shakespeare and Tagore stands the imposing statue of
Rev.Bro.Eleazer, the icon of Indian Provinces. Water falling from the
three walls form a sheet of water and flows-down three streams, dotted
with many small steps, representing over 120 institutions established
by the Indian Provinces, spread far and wide from North East to
Kanniyakumari.
Further-down, water gushes forth from a round
cascade and disperses all along the sides. This represents the
continuous flow of students from our institution and their contribution
to the society at large.
The small triangle – the “TITCH
MEMORIAL”- with Bro.Eleazer’s statue, stands as a tribute to the person
who has been instrumental for what Montfort is today…The Indian
Provinces are today!! The small triangular beds all around the statue
represent the many years that he served as the Principal. The
architecture thus is theme based.
