The Montfort Annual Prize Nite 2010, was held on 13th March in the Eugene Hall. The Chief Guest of the evening was Mr.P.Vasu, an alumnus of Montfort and an entrepreneur from Madurai. He was accompanied by his wife, Mrs.Sumathi Vasu. The Chief Guest along with Bro.George Padikara, the Provincial Superior was accorded a ceremonial welcome by Bro.George K.J., the Principal, Bro.Ignatius, the Director, other Brothers and the School Band.

The students who execelled in various curricular and co-curricualr activities throughtout the year were honoured by Mr. & Mrs.Vasu with certificates, prize books, medals, trophies and shields. Nearly 3000 prizes were distributed.

This year, the Study Cup for Academics was won by the Patrick House. Special Awards for staff and students in various fields were also distributed.

The Junior school students presented the famous play “The Sleeping Beauty” and the senior students a play titled “Great Expectations”.

Mr.Sanjeevi and Mr.Escrder, the retired staff were honoured by the Principal.

The Principal’s Annual Report was the climax of the evening’s programme. The entire year’s activities were presented using the latest audio visual techniques with the help of a few students from Std.III to Std.XI. The Chief Guest in his speech expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Bro.Principal for having inivited to preside over the Prize Nite. He recalled with nostalgic memories his stay at Montfort as a student some 30 years ago. He advised the student community to make best use of the opportunities given.

The programme came to an end with the “Farewell” song by the students of Std.XII followed by the National Anthem.
